Dog Breed: Carolina Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Whistlin’ Winston is a trail-blazing, toy-chasing, people-watching pup who’s ready for his loving home! Winston came to us timid but friendly, already knowing “sit” and eager to connect. He’s bonded quickly with volunteers and thrives with guidance. He even checks in with his human on walks for reassurance and praise. On his recent field trip, Winston hiked over 3 miles, taking in all the sights, sounds, and squirrels. He really wanted to meet every dog he saw, but with some treats and a gentle word, he was happy to pause, sit, and just enjoy the birds. He especially loves squeaky toys and head massages. Look into his eyes for one second and he’s yours. “Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen is his theme song because he will get to the top of the hiking trail to see the spectacular view!
