Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Mixed. if you were fortunate enough to attend the fundraiser a couple weeks ago for Semper Fi Legacy Rescue, you witnessed a truly heartwarming moment when this incredible guy walked in and introduced himself. Everyone instantly adored him as “Church Dog”. His story is one of resilience - a stray who bravely walked into a church where a rescue fundraiser was taking place, only to have his owner located, but sadly, she did not want him. Amy and Alan were honored to take him in as a foster and rename him Winston. Getting to know him has been an absolute delight. Not only is he potty trained, but he will lovingly let you know when he needs to go. He has a thoughtful nature, often bringing you items he thinks you need, like the paper off my printer, without even damaging it. He finds joy in the simple things - his toys and snuggling on the couch with his head in your lap. Winston has also spread love and positivity to all our neighbors and their dogs, and he adores everyone he meets. He’s a gentle giant, full of love.Trust me, you won’t find a more lovable companion Winston just has one wish, and that is to find a forever home where he actually feels loved and wanted. He promises to be the bestest boy and bring inspiration and joy to his new family. Reply Forward Add reaction

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
