Description
Dog Breed: Yellow Labrador Retriever / Mixed. Luna is your typical 5 year old lab (66lbs) —friendly, affectionate, energetic and looking for her adventure family! Luna is an extremely well socialized—dog friendly, kid friendly, and people friendly dog. Luna loves to go for walks, runs, hikes, and swimming. She’s much more of a “go out and explore” kinda girl than a play in the backyard girl. The only thing she’s fetching is some snacks. Once she is exercised, she is a dream in the house and can be left free roam to snooze on the couch until you come home. Luna is a fast learner and is getting a refresher on her basic obedience skills and learning lots of new ones! Luna does require a home with a securely fenced yard. Luna is the ultimate dog looking for a person or family to adventure with forever! To meet her in her Denver foster home, apply to adopt at mountainpetrescue

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
