Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 125.00. Who can resist the cuteness factor of this "Heinz 57" puppy BENTLEY who also has a sister named Bailey up for adoption as well. We think Bentley is a boxer mix and will mature to about 55 to 60 lbs when fully grown. He is a very laid back guy that likes a lot people attention and cuddle time with his human. He loves to play with other dogs and is good around children. As with all our rescue dogs, their adoption fee of $125 each includes completed spay/neuter surgery, up to date vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention plus a HomeAgain microchip with lifetime registration. They will be attending our Conroe Petco adoption days on the first and third Saturday afternoons of each month (see our home page for details). If you'd welcome one (or more!) of these puppies into your family please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application at no cost or obligation. Prepare to have your heart stolen by these little rescue rascals!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
