Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 125.00. BAILEY is short-haired Terrier mix (Jack Russell, Rat or Fox?) and weighs 20 lbs. Her coat is a beautiful bright contrast of brindle with a patch of white on her chest. She loves everyone she meets both people and other dogs. She is working on her basic obedience training and is going to be one of the models in our Doggies & Divas event on 10/11/25 so she can show what a shinning star she is. She is very treat and attention motivated and loves to run and play with toys. As with all our rescue dogs, their adoption fee of $125 each includes completed spay/neuter surgery, up to date vaccinations, worming, flea control and heartworm prevention plus a HomeAgain microchip with lifetime registration. They will be attending our Conroe Petco adoption days on the first and third Saturday afternoons of each month (see our home page for details). If you'd welcome one (or more!) of these puppies into your family please click on the green arrow icon near the top of the page to submit an online adoption application at no cost or obligation. Prepare to have your heart stolen by these little rescue rascals!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
