Additionally for CATS you may email JSheltoneulesstx.gov and for DOGS, email trinitygapclubgmail Meet Evie! Evie is an adorable 8-month-old brindle terrier mix with a heart as big as her paws! At 58 lbs, she's low to the ground but built strong—perfect for zoomies or snuggles alike. This smart girl already knows how to sit, stay, and has excellent recall. She walks and jogs beautifully on leash, loves her morning walks, and is always up for a game of tug, fetch, or a good bone to chew on. Energetic and playful, Evie also has a gentle, cuddly side—especially when you're relaxing on the couch. She’s fully potty and kennel trained, takes treats sweetly from little hands, and is great with kids and other friendly dogs. Not food or dog aggressive, though we’re unsure about cats as she hasn't lived with any. Evie is spayed, fully vetted, and ready for her forever home! Whether you're looking for a hiking buddy or a cuddle companion, Evie is the total package. If you would like to meet Evie, please email steffeniegaprescuegmail

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
