Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Are you searching for a best friend who’s always happy, ready to play, and just as excited to crash on the couch and watch TV with you? Meet Coby — the full package! Coby is a 2-year-old male Malinois mix currently located in Maryland, and he’s the definition of fun. Even though his ears don’t stand upright like his Malinois brothers and sisters, he’s still a total catch! This boy has endless energy, a goofy personality, and a huge heart. Whether it’s hiking, swimming, chasing tennis balls, or snuggling up after a long day, Coby is always game. All About Coby: Located in Maryland • 2 years old | Male Malinois mix | Neutered | UTD on vaccines • Crate trained & housebroken • Knows sit, down, and has a fantastic recall • Medium/high energy with a high toy drive and medium food drive • Toy-obsessed — he points, tracks, and laser-focuses on his toy like a pro hunter • Loves car rides, hiking, and the beach • Learning to manage some leash reactivity (especially in stores or at the vet) • Enjoys playing fetch with other dogs after slow introductions — prefers neutral, calm dogs over high-energy playmates • Good with dogs and kids • Should not live with cats or small animals (bunnies, etc.) • Would thrive with an experienced handler who can give him structure, patience, and a job to do Coby is goofy, lovable, and so smart — the perfect mix of athlete and snugglebug. He’s toy-driven, people-loving, and would make an amazing adventure buddy or dock diving prospect! If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will keep you moving and laughing every single day, Coby is your guy. All MAD dogs come with a Fi Collar and 6 month subscription. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
