Description
Dog Breed: Shih Tzu / Poodle (Miniature) / Mixed. Meet SHILOH! Shiloh is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix weighing around 15 pounds. He’s a very sweet little guy who gets along wonderfully with other dogs and currently lives happily with both large and small pups. However, Shiloh isn’t comfortable around men. We believe he may not have been treated kindly by one in his past, so we’re looking for a female-only foster or forever home where he can feel completely safe and loved. Breed overview
Overview:
The Shih-Poo is a charming designer breed, a delightful cross between the gentle Shih Tzu and the intelligent Miniature Poodle, typically originating from breeders seeking to combine the best traits of both. These small companion dogs usually boast a soft, wavy to curly coat that is often low-shedding, making them a popular choice for individuals with allergies. Physically, they exhibit a compact build, expressive eyes, and come in a variety of colors. In terms of temperament, Shih-Poos are generally affectionate, playful, and highly adaptable, making them excellent family pets and well-suited for apartment living due to their moderate exercise needs. They thrive on human companionship and can be quite trainable with positive reinforcement. While generally robust, potential health considerations include issues common to their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation, eye conditions, and dental problems, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care.
