Locke was found as a stray but it hasn’t stopped him from loving people and wanting to sleep in a warm bed. He is still young and super trainable. He has even learned the commands sit, down, come, and how to walk on a leash. He does very well in his crate and loves to learn. Locke would do really well with someone that wants a companion to teach and give him the love that he needs. He has learned how to be an inside pup with us and wants to learn more and more every day. Locke’s loving life and ready to meet more people and friends. Make Locke a part of your home today! Locke loves being in a crate and is potty trained. Locke has been tested and passed with kids and dogs. He gets along with cats eventually but does try to play with them at first. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
