Dog Breed: Dachshund (short coat). Rusty came into rescue when his human passed away. He is a gorgeous 5 year old red short hair Dachshund. He is a standard, and could definitely lose some weight. Rusty is potty trained, but you have to take him out regularly. Rusty is still cautious around new people. He attaches to one person. Doesn't want others to touch him. He does okay with other dogs his own size, and also cat friendly. May growl at them if they get too close to his person, but doesn't bite. Best situation would be a retired person or couple that's home a lot.
