Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Chiquita is an absolute doll! This little nugget is super playful and lives her life to the fullest. Loves other dogs, toys, and treats! She's not going to be very big, at almost 6 months old she is just 10 pounds. Perfect size for small apartment living. Chiquita entered our program with her litter mates. They were an "Oopsie" litter. The elderly owners could not take care of the puppies. The mama has an excellent temperament. She was great with the puppies and they all are very healthy. She is up-to-date on all vaccinations and will be spayed soon. We do microchip all of our dogs prior to adoption. Her new family will need to understand. She is not potty trained yet and since she's a puppy, she will chew things. A lot of patience is needed when you add a puppy to your household. The adoption fee is $550 and that includes covering the cost of transport to New England.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
