INDICA - SIBERIAN HUSKY (MEDIUM COAT) DOG FOR ADOPTION

Description

Dog Breed: Siberian Husky (medium coat). Despite waiting for almost a year, INDICA is perfectly behaved during the long hours in her kennel, never barking or jumping at people or dogs who pass by. Volunteers think INDICA keeps getting passed over because she is shy at showings with potential adopters. Thankfully, INDICA is now in foster and is getting a chance to blossom into her true, whole self… which is anything BUT shy!! No personal space with this social butterfly! INDICA must be touching something living at all times. Her foster mom says INDICA has brought warmth and playfulness to the household that wasn't there before. She is great with other dogs (her foster mom has four!!). She is the perfect adventure buddy—a sweet, smart, inquisitive lady who LOVES to play in the water and go for sniff walks around the neighborhood. INDICA rides well in cars and was totally cool meeting her foster mom's grandchildren (with ANY new dog, young kids should be monitored closely). Notes on a pre-foster day trip: Indi was amazing the entire time I had her out. As soon as we left the shelter, she was quite mellow. Loaded into the car easily and enjoyed the ride. I had the windows down and she loved sticking her nose out for some fresh air. Very good on leash went we went for a long walk along a canal. Any slight pulling was easily corrected. Appropriately interested in everything- birds, smells, dogs, and people on the other side of the canal. At my house, she wagged her tail and got up close to the sliding glass door where my dogs were. She definitely wanted to meet them. Comfortable in the house, likely preferring the soft chairs if allowed… Interested in my pool and intrigued by the floating robot but did not try to go in. Loved her pup cup and slept in the car back to the shelter. Enjoyed being brushed. Made no sound the entire time…nothing. Overall, such a sweet dog! All animals are up-to-date on vaccinations (including rabies if over 4 months old), microchipped, and spayed or neutered. All dogs have been been vaccinated with DHPP and Bordatella (kennel cough) and heartworm tested negative (if over 6 months). All cats have been vaccinated with FVRCP and current on flea control.
