Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. IN VERMONT Meet Babygirl! youtu.be/XhqSFmKKT3I Babygirl is 16 months old, female (approx. DOB 11-1-23), 37 lbs., vetted, is or will be spayed, and micro-chipped. Babygirl was kept on a chain outside of her home when P4P was called to help get her off the chain and find her a loving home! Babygirl is a wiggle worm; showing her happiness with her little wiggle butt! She has lived with other dogs, has lived with and loved cats and even a rabbit, has medium+ energy, is socially outgoing and loves meeting new people, is treat motivated, and is so grateful for her 2nd chance after being neglected! Babygirl is crated trained, knows Sit, and is learning Off and Stay. Babygirl is high-energy, affectionate, and playful. Each morning she greets us with her signature “Arooooo”—a cross between a bark and a howl. She loves cuddling, being whispered to, and playing with long plush toys she can shake and toss. She thrives on stimulation and wants to interact with people and animals alike, though she’s still learning how to navigate those relationships. She responds well to structure and consistent training, responding well to clicker training. She is intelligent and sweet as pie! Babygirl's ideal home would be rural with plenty of space, people, and (with supervision) other animals. She craves attention and stimulation. A home with children and other pets could be great for her, provided there is careful guidance around boundaries, especially with dogs. She needs structure, engagement, and consistency. Stay tuned for more information! If you are interested in adopting Babygirl please fill out an Application at .Passion-4-Paws (please make sure you have the Vermont site not CT) - thanks! Please note Fosters have 1st option of Adoption. Check out her Facebook page (please "Like" us while you are there)! Disclosure: Breed labels are often incorrect: we rarely know the genetic lineage of the dogs we rescue. Many shelters and rescues specify breeds based on appearance; however, research has shown that less than 2% of a dog’s DNA determines appearance! Passion 4 Paws does not practice the use of labels pertaining to compatibility with others or dog breed. Labels such as “dog friendly” and “child friendly” should be used with caution as they often over-simplify the personalities and behavior of dogs.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
