Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Located in Texas, this darling one-year-old female Belgian Malinois was saved from the streets by a kind-hearted couple who found her wandering with an injured leg. They lovingly took her in, got her the veterinary care she needed, and ensured she was vaccinated and spayed. Now this loving girl is looking for her forever home. Winsome Willow is: Crate trained Housebroken Great with other dogs Playful and loving Good with young children Treat-motivated and eager to learn Medium energy with prey drive for rabbits & squirrels Gentle with cats—she plays but never harms them Willow is a low/medium energy girl who needs plenty of exercise, mental stimulation of lots of cuddles! She rides great in the car, adores her foster brother and knows only sit, but her foster is working on more obedience - she simply has never been trained before. With attention and patience, we know she will shine and become a source of joy for her lucky adopter. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
