Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier (medium coat). Young, goofy, and full of love, thatâs me in a nutshell! Iâm a 1-year-old Pit Bull Terrier who came to HSVC as a stray, and Iâve been charming everyone with my puppy energy and huge heart ever since. My favorite pastime? Playgroups! Iâm what staff call a âplaygroup rockstar,â meaning Iâm happiest when surrounded by other dogs who want to run, wrestle, and play just as much as I do. When Iâm not showing off my zoomies, Iâm soaking up attention, learning new tricks (Iâm really smart and eager to please!), or flashing my silly grin that wins people over in an instant. Iâm still young, so Iâll need someone patient who can help me keep growing into the amazing dog Iâm meant to be. If your idea of a good time includes toys, laughter, and a wagging tail by your side, swipe right, I could be the perfect addition to your pack!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
