Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff. Strong, loyal and sensitive, Layla is true to the Cane Corso breed. She adores her person and follows them like a little (big) shadow. Layla is like a flower on the cusp of blossoming! She learns quickly and the more exposure she gets, the less new things phase her. She just needs someone wanting to invest time and patience into her care. In her foster home, Layla loves playing with her two large foster siblings. We recommend a home with other large dogs and a fenced yard. Layla has done well on public outings with a harness. While she can be like a bull in a china shop when excited (like any large puppy), she also knows how to settle and enjoys chewing bones and snuggling with her foster siblings. Due to the nature of the breed, Layla will only go to a home with previous Corso experience. She has the makings of an amazing dog but will need someone dedicated to her training. Kids are still a little too unpredictable for Layla, so we recommend an adult home or one with older kids. She has a cosmetic cherry eye, but it will not affect her health. She is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated. Her adoption fee is $400. Apply today at mpravl! A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
