Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Meet Munchkin! Munchkin is 15 weeks old and 8 lbs. He is a very sweet fun loving pup who will keep you busy! He loves a good stick and will play all day but also loves the occasional nap. He is good with other dogs. His foster sister is a labradoodle who is about 4x his size and they play great. He is good with kids and has been around little ones from 1-10. He is crate trained and mostly potty trained. He is a small dog so don't expect him to hold in a potty longer than a few hours (he will go through the night without an accident if you let him out right before bedtime) so he would do best with a parent who can be home most of the day with him. We haven't seen him around cats or other animals other than dogs, but given his age and size he e think he would do great. To meet munchkin, please fill out an application! Adoption donation of $350 includes spay/neuter, microchip, 2-3 dewormings, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Dallas Ft Worth Area Applications can be found online at .pawsofloverescue, under the adopt tab. We require an approved application before a meet and greet is set up.

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
