Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Meet Sharky, the 8-month-old Shepherd mix weighing 32 lb with a heart of gold and an obsession with living life to the fullest! This goofy pup is ridiculously affectionate, playful, and social, always stoked to make new BFFs. Sure, he's still working on his manners, but hey, he's a quick learner and doesn't get too bent out of shape when you correct him. He's already mastered the basics, like coming when called and sitting on command. Sharky's ready to take his training to the next level and become a model citizen in a loving home. If you're on the hunt for a fun-loving, trainable, and all-around awesome pup, Sharky might just be your new best bud. He does awesome in doggy daycare and also is good on a leash. Adoption donation of $350 includes spay/neuter, microchip, 2-3 dewormings, dhpp vaccinations, rabies shot, bordetella nose spray and any other necessary procedures prior to adoption. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
