Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). I’m Pepi, a 3-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart full of love and a spirit made for adventure. Whether we’re out exploring trails or curled up on the couch with a bone, I’m happiest just being by your side. I’m potty trained, kennel trained, and super smart – treats are the way to my heart, and I learn new things quickly! I’m currently practicing my leash manners (I get so excited to greet new friends and explore), but with a little consistency and positive reinforcement, I’ll be walking like a pro in no time. When it comes to other pets, I love playing with dogs during playdates but prefer being the only dog in the home once the fun’s over. As for cats – I think they’re fascinating, maybe a little too fascinating – so a cat-free home would be best. Now, my favorite thing in the whole world? Kids! I absolutely adore them – their energy, their cuddles, their love. I’m gentle, playful, and can’t wait to find a family with little ones to call my own. I’m ready to bring joy, fun, and loyalty to my forever family. If you’re looking for a best friend who’s always up for adventure and loves to snuggle too, I might just be your girl. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, dental, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
