Dog Breed: Terrier / Labrador Retriever. Adoption Fee: 300.00. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant. This young dog is absolutely "super sweet" says his foster. He also told us that Dunson gets along well with other dogs in his care. He is going to make the totally best family dog and companion. A wonderful, all around great boy, he is ready to move into your home and be a family member. He is a sturdy boy, healthy and happy. His spirit and love of life will bring joy into every day of your life. He has been seen by a vet and had a complete check up, as well as all his shots. He is the total package of LOVE! A SPECIAL NOTE TO YOU FROM HIS FOSTER: Dunson is an absolute angel He has yet to jump up on any furniture or bark at anything despite his foster brother being a not so good example! Shares toys nicely and shows no aggression or resource guarding. Walks very well on the leash. Very treat motivated. He’s a little skittish about strange sounds or sudden movements but not surprising since he’s been in the kennel for so long. He walks over and puts his paw on me when he wants attention. Such a sweetheart! In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
