Dog Breed: Miniature Schnauzer. Adoption Fee: $400. Gretchen is a very sweet Mini Schnauzer in search of her forever family. She is doing very well in rescue and received a much needed and extensive dental. She is feeling so much better without all of that infection and pain in her mouth. Gretchen does well with other dogs in her foster home and she is discovering that toys are pretty fun to play with. She is working hard on her housetraining and doing well but will need continued consistency, etc. ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard - walking on a leash/harness is very much a work in progress. A fenced in yard is a must. *All SFCR dogs are current on age-appropriate vaccinations (rabies, distemper, bordetella, and lepto), spayed/neutered (if at least 6 months of age), tested for heartworm & tick-borne disease, receive dentals if needed, are started on preventatives for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and microchipped. Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have received limited socialization, so they may need extra time to adjust and settle in. Older children are often a great fit for our dogs, and family's with younger children will be considered based on each dog's individual needs. Skills like house training and leash walking may require a little extra patience and practice. However, with understanding and a gentle hand, most of our dogs adapt quite quickly.
