Weighing just 10 pounds, Jimmy is full of energy, charm, and love. His favorite thing in the world? Fetching his stuffed toys—so a home with a yard to run and play in would be ideal. and a small sibling dog to play with would be great. Jimmy loves long walks but somehow still has energy to play fetch the moment he gets home. He’ll happily entertain himself or gently nudge you to toss his toy from your chair. His toy obsession is adorable and entertaining, though his enthusiasm during tug-of-war can get a little feisty—so he may be better suited to a home without very young children. He’s fully crate-trained, potty-trained, and thrives on routine. Jimmy will let you know when he needs to go out with a quiet whimper, and when he’s ready to rest, he’ll snuggle into his crate or curl up right beside you—belly rubs welcome! Jimmy is a loyal companion at home or on outings, and he’s calm and quiet when left alone for a few hours. He may give a quick bark at other dogs, but otherwise, he’s silent and sweet. He eats twice daily—kibble with freeze-dried chicken, a splash of broth, and a few treats (in moderation, of course!). Jimmy is loving, sweet, and incredibly special. If you're ready for a best friend who will keep you smiling and shower you with love, Jimmy is your guy! He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and is microchipped. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
