If you are interested in rescuing or adopting this dog, please contact them directly: Hi there! My name’s B. I was rescued from a high kill shelter. I’m one lucky pup who’s ready to find my forever home. I’ve never met a stranger—I love people of all kinds and will gladly greet you with a wagging tail and big smile. I’m the kind of dog who just wants to be your best buddy, whether we’re hanging out at home or exploring the neighborhood. Speaking of exploring... walks are my absolute favorite! But fair warning: I take the lead. I’ve got a strong nose and an even stronger sense of adventure—so basically, I walk you. Sniffing everything in sight is part of the fun, and I promise I’ll make every walk a little more exciting. I get along great with humans, but I can get really interested in cats... maybe a little too interested. Because of that, I’d do best in a home without feline friends. Sometimes I like to have my space but I would love to have a low key female companion or I can thrive as your one and only! If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and slightly goofy companion who’s always down for a sniff-filled stroll and a cuddle on the couch, I might just be your guy. Currently being fostered in Alabama in a multi-dog household, he is approximately 7-8 years young, neutered, micro-chipped, current on all vaccines and heartworm/lyme negative.

A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
