Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffeluckydoganimalrescue) for more information about this pet. big-eared gal looking for a home! CROCODILE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Come meet Crocodile and other great adoptable dogs this Sunday (08/03) from 12-3 pm at the PetSmart in Alexandria (3351 Richmond Highway, Alexandria, VA 22305)! Name: Crocodile Best Guess for Breed: German Shepherd mix Best Guess for Age: 6 years as of May 2025 SEX: female Approximate Weight: 62lbs Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters! Currently Living at: DC area foster home Crocodile is Looking For: Her forever home! Through no fault of her own, this sweetie ended up in the shelter. She's eagerly looking forward to having her own humans for long sniffy walks and romps in the park and all the adventures they can dream up. What do you say? Is she the one for your home and your heart? What My Foster Says About Me: Crocodile is very sweet and loves people and other dogs! She has been very playful with the foster's resident dog. She's affectionate and loves to be near people. She walks well on a leash and enjoys going on sniffy walks. She is very smart - knows "sit" and is making progress with house training. Crocodile settled quickly in the car and in her crate overnight. She also LOVES water - splashing in her dog bowl and in the bath! Heartworm information: Crocodile is a truly Lucky Dog. Although she tested positive for heartworm disease, she has been treated! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. Crocodile has completed this activity restriction phase. We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process. Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training. TO ADOPT: The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations, spay/neuter, and heartworm treatment.
