Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Beagle (short coat). My name is Tex and I’m inviting you down to my two steppin place! Hey, there are cowboys here too! I can turn a toe line dancing and look mighty fine in my cowboy hat. I’m the strong, quite type just the way you would expect from a gentleman from the Lone Star State. Well, Mom was two steppin on the wrong side of the tracks so now I'm doing the jitterbug being here! So take a gander down here and check me out! Here is what the crew has to say about me: Sweet Texas is a sweet pup. He is happy all the time. Tex is around 10 weeks and 9 pounds. He was brought in with his litter mate Tessa.. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
