Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 350.00. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog. Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites. Duncan is an adorable, young, scruffy boy! He's a tad shy initially but overcomes it quickly! He would probably blossom more quickly if there's another dog in the home. He came to us with his companion or brother Dawson. They were found abandoned on a road with no housing anywhere nearby at about 3 months of age. The finder took good care of them with the help of his family but being a single person with a grueling work schedule, just couldn't make the lifelong commitment to them. Can you?? Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
