Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Meet Lloyd! With his adorable dark spots and sweet, curious eyes, Lloyd is a gentle soul who loves people once he feels safe. He might start off a little shy, but he’s usually the first to warm up — tail wagging and ready to snuggle. Lloyd thrives in calm, patient environments and would do best with older kids (around age 8 and up), since sudden movements or loud noises can still make him nervous. Lloyd adores mealtime, gets excited for walks, and is doing great with leash training. He’s still polishing his potty routine and may occasionally lift a leg indoors, so a bit more structure and guidance will help him keep learning. When it’s playtime, Lloyd’s enthusiasm really shines — he loves a good romp and isn’t afraid to get a little silly. At night, he’ll happily curl up in his crate or right next to his favorite human for cozy dreams. With his gentle heart and loving spirit, Lloyd is ready to bring joy, snuggles, and plenty of speckled charm to his forever home. PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $300 and you can adopt me at .polkadogz.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
