Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Catahoula Leopard Dog (short coat). My name is Seven, 007! I'm the type of guy to seek adventure just like 007 but now the only thing that I’m seeking is a warm, loving hearth. Somebody else is just going to have to save the world from Goldfinger. I promise I will only have eyes for you! I do have big beautiful blue eyes too! I don’t even have that British reserve- I’m a friendly little canine! So, who can you resist a cute little package like me? Won’t you be by James Bond and come get me so we can bond together? Here is what the crew has to say about me: Poor Seven was brought in again with his BBF Thunder. How owners were notified but to no avail. Anyway, he sure is a cutie. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
