Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). A note from Timothy's foster! `Hi, My name's Timothy but I go by Timmy. I'm a small guy and these short little legs just don't get me any time on the court. My foster parents say I look like a heeler with Corgi legs. If you're looking for a `fun-size` (small) older calm guy I'm a slam dunk. I even rep the Spurs with my silver and black coat and I'm a team player so I get along with my dog foster brother. I mostly chill through the day but I still got hops, usually in the back yard and I walk on-leash very well. Being an older guy, the vet thinks I'm about 12 years old, I just want to curl up on my bed and hang out with my people. Maybe you could put on the Spurs game?`

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
