Description
Dog Breed: Schnauzer / Mixed (medium coat). Please contact Jamesa (roxysrescueyahoo), 713-882-2610 for more information about this pet. CARRIE along with her sister TRUDY were found dumped in a park and left to fend for themselves in San Antonio, TX. But that has no effect on their behavior, they are friendly and social and get along with all of the dogs in the foster home. They are also snuggle bunnies and come to you for love after they are finished playing. They love each other and do not have to be adopted together but would do best in a home with a pet companion. I do not have cats in my house so I am not sure how they would get along with cats. Both girls are 7 months old and weigh 12 pound and will probably be at least 15-17 pounds as adults. They are crate trained and potty trained and love to play outside. I do not have a doggy door, I only use the word "potty" to let all of the dogs out. Sometimes they come right back in and sometimes they stay out to run zoomies. If you are interested in adopting CARRIE or her sister TRUDY please submit an application on the website below. Each dog comes spay/neutered (fixed), rabies shots appropriate for their age, and dewormed twice. The dogs are up to date on vaccinations according to their age at the time of adoption. They are microchipped, heartworm tested and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventative. ALL OF THIS IS INCLUDED IN THE ADOPTION FEE. We transport across the United States. Medical records will come with each dog at the time of adoption. Our organization is run by volunteers/foster parents, please be patient to give us time to respond to your emails and/or phone calls. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
