Willow – Black Female doodle, 1.5 years, 60 lbs Willow is a sweet, playful, and affectionate doodle looking for her forever home! At just a year and a half old, she’s full of youthful energy and joy. She loves games like fetch, tug-of-war, keep-away, and especially chasing squeaky balls — her absolute favorite! Willow may be a little shy when first meeting new people or dogs, but once she’s comfortable, her playful and loving personality shines. She enjoys wrestling and playing chase with her doggy friends and would thrive with a confident canine companion to show her the ropes. When she’s not busy playing, Willow is a total snuggle bug. She loves to be close — whether it’s laying at your feet, snuggling on the couch, or curling up against you at bedtime. She rides well in the car, enjoys baths (really!), and is crate trained, though she much prefers sleeping near her pack. Willow is still working on her leash skills, so she’ll need a patient adopter who can continue her training with positive reinforcement. She hasn't been around cats or children, so a calm, adult-only home or one willing to slowly introduce her to new experiences would be ideal. If you’re looking for a loyal, goofy, and loving companion whose equal parts playmate and cuddle buddy, Willow might just be the perfect fit! Breed overview
Overview:
The Labradoodle is a mix between the Labrador Retriever and the Poodle. Both breeds are excellent for children and families. The Labradoodle became known in 1988, when Australian breeder Wally Conron crossed the Labrador Retriever and Standard Poodle at the Royal Guide Dogs Associations of Australia in Victoria. Conron's aim was to combine the low-shedding coat of the Poodle with the gentleness and trainability of the Labrador, and to provide a guide dog suitable for people with allergies to fur and dander. Sultan, a dog from this litter, displayed all the qualities Conron was seeking and worked as a guide dog for a woman in Hawaii for ten years. Although Guide Dogs Victoria no longer breed Labradoodles, they are bred by other guide and assistance dog organizations in Australia and other places. The Association for the Blind of Western Australia has introduced Labradoodles into their training program, and their first, Jonnie, graduated in November 2010. Labradoodles are now widely used around the world as guide, assistance, and therapy dogs as well as being popular family dogs. The Norwegian Royal Crown Prince and Princess own a Labradoodle.
