Description
Dog Breed: Terrier. Meet Tootsie Roll! Tootsie Roll is an adorable brindle beauty born in June 2024 with the most fabulous “ears for days” look! This playful girl is full of energy and absolutely loves chasing balls—playtime is her favorite time! She has been around a 9-year-old child, but her enthusiasm can sometimes be a little overzealous, so she would do best with kids who understand playful pups. Tootsie Roll would thrive in an active home that can match her energy and provide lots of fun and love. Are you ready for endless playtime and a lifetime of love? Apply to adopt Tootsie Roll at ITVrescue! Her adoption fee is sponsored in remembrance of Enzo. #AdoptTootsieRoll #PlayfulPup #EarsForDays #ITVRescue #ForeverHomeNeeded All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
