Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (medium coat). Meet Clumsy! Clumsy came to us from a hoarding property, where he lived outside with many other dogs. The transition to a foster home was a bit challenging for him but he settled in nicely after only a few days. He is a sweet and cuddly boy. He is learning all kinds of new things, like walking on a leash and he is a smart boy. Clumsy does well with other dogs and would probably really like having a friend around. He does not like being home alone and will cry if you try to crate him. This needs work but having a dog friend around may help him with this. Clumsy seems to have a preference for female humans. It took him a day or two to warm up to the male human in his foster home, but now they are best buddies and he sits on his lap while he is working. A little patience to win him over is needed. We prefer to see Clumsy in a home with kids over 10. Clumsy will be vaccinated, neutered and chipped. His adoption fee is $450 We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
