Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Say hello to Gabe, a charming Pitty/Golden mix who found himself looking for a new home after his owners' divorce. But don't let that backstory fool you – Gabe is incredibly grateful, affectionate, and friendly, ready to shower his new family with love! He's currently in a NJ foster home. Gabe is a true snuggle connoisseur who lives for cozy nights watching baseball or reality TV – he's not picky as long as he's getting some love! While he's very playful, affection is his absolute favorite, and he'll happily stop a game to come soak up some pets. This polite pup is also a social butterfly with other dogs, happily greeting them on walks and doing wonderfully with a previous canine housemate. He even aced his cat test, proving himself respectful to feline friends! This smart cookie knows a few commands, is house-trained, and makes a calm co-pilot in your car. He even loves his personal den, his crate! Want to win his heart? Offer him some peanut butter – it's his absolute favorite treat. Gabe would thrive in a home with older children (10+) as he's still learning how to politely ask for attention. While Gabe may be shy with men upon first meeting, he blossoms into a loving companion once he feels secure in his new home. He's looking for adopters who are ready to continue his journey of meeting new people with the help of a trainer, as he can be a bit reserved initially. Help Gabe discover the world, one friendly face (and peanut butter treat) at a time! Gabe is fixed, up to date on vaccines and tested negative for heartworm. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
