Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 400. Online Adoption Application › If you're looking for a best friend and a loyal companion, Sky is your gal! Cautious at first, but then curious, and then so loving and excited to be in your arms! She'll be at your side asking to learn new tricks! (For treat rewards, ofc!) She woke up one day and decided she LOVES going on walks. She's kind and gentle with small kids, good and playful with other dogs (pro-wrestler with her baby sister, Gray.) Sky loves belly rubs and napping close to you. She would thrive in a family with another pet friend to keep her busy while you're at work! - almost potty trained - sleeps in a large crate playpen and sleeps fine alone - once potty trained and housebroken, Sky would do great as a dog free to roam lazily around the house when you're not home! - up to date on all her shots - 10 weeks!! The puppy adoption fee is $400, which covers vetting, microchip, and the future spay/neuter surgery performed by a rescue affiliated veterinarian. All puppies have had a wellness visit and are up to date on age appropriate vaccines. Breed and size is Pawfect Match Rescue’s best educated guess and not guaranteed.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
