Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed (short coat). 8-9 weeks as of 5/22/25 8.13 lbs. as of 5/22, projected full-grown weight: 40+ lbs. Stoney and his siblings were found dumped on the property of a kind citizen who is now fostering them. We don't know the breed mix of their parents but we do know that they're as cute as can be! Puppies are playful, active, and loving. They need someone will lots of time and patience to raise them to be the best adult dogs they can be! Stay tuned for more info as we get to know Stoney. $325 donation includes three rounds of puppy vaccines, dewormer, a one-year rabies vaccine, microchip and registration, and spay/neuter. Adopter will take the puppy to an LHS-approved vet to be spayed/neutered at 16 weeks of age per the spay/neuter agreement and in accordance with Chapter 828, Texas Health and Safety Code. They are all kept in foster homes until they are adopted. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
