Meet Hope – A True Survivor with So Much Love to Give Hope is a beautiful 3-year-old Pit/Catahoula mix weighing 53 lbs, and her name couldn't be more fitting. Found off Sky Harbor in Rockwall on 5/23/25, Hope arrived at the shelter in heartbreaking condition—she was missing nearly 90% of her fur, severely underweight, and had painfully overgrown nails. Despite it all, this brave girl never gave up. From the moment she arrived, Hope has lived up to her name—greeting every new day with a wagging tail and a heart full of trust. With the love and care of RAC staff and volunteers, her fur is growing back beautifully, and she's blossoming into the healthy, affectionate girl she was always meant to be. Hope adores attention and companionship, and she's quickly become a favorite around the shelter. She does well with other dogs and enjoys their company, but if you have a pup at home, a meet and greet is recommended to make sure it's a good match. She is spayed, microchipped, current on rabies and basic vaccines, and heartworm negative. She's ready to start her next chapter—and all she needs now is a family to believe in her.
