Description
Dog Breed: Shepherd / Terrier / Mixed. Everything is looking really rosy for our girl Rosaline! She is a six-month-old Shepherd mix with a short black and tan coat. She currently weighs about 38 pounds and is expected to be a large gal (over 60 pounds) when fully grown. Found as a stray and luckily brought to a shelter, Rosaline is all puppy. She is very playful and oh so comfortable with children and other dogs. All house, crate and lead training are in progress, and her behavior around cats is unknown. Rosaline will thrive in a home that is dedicated to providing plenty of exercise, training, and socialization. And affection. Lots and lots of affection. She is more than ready to impress, settle in and become that special lifelong companion you have been looking for. Is your home the one? * Please keep in mind when considering adoption, dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust significantly better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Rosaline is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us. If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
