Description
Dog Breed: Terrier (short coat). Adoption Fee: $200. Meet Harrison! This little cutie is looking for his forever home after he was surrendered to the rescue. His former owner could not handle his puppy antics. This little boy is in a foster home with kids and other doggies and is learning how to behave, but can you blame that cute puppy face? This boy is already neutered and microchipped. He has his first set of vaccines and will get another round soon, along with a rabies vaccine. His foster is in Tucson, AZ, but comes to the Phoenix/East Valley area often. We aren’t 100% on his breed.. some thought Australian Kelpie.. some thought Terrier mix. We don’t know exactly, except that he is the cutest thing ever! An application is required followed by a meet/greet and home check. His adoption fee is $200 to help cover vetting fees.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
