Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). wagoninn.rescuegroups Coco is a pit mix who is looking for a new home. Coco is part of our owner surrender program. Sadly her parents are divorced and cannot bring her along. She is here in NJ. Coco came from Puerto Rico as a puppy. Coco is a sweet little chunk who loves being with her people and loves riding in the car and playing in the yard. She is housebroken and knows sit, come and down. While she has lived her whole life with another dog (Choco), she would probably do best as an only child. Coco can be initially reactive on leash to other dogs, but can get past it. She is generally easy on leash and a calm, sweet, affectionate girl. She has shown to be fine around children, but has had limited exposure. It is unknown how she would be with a cat. Coco is fixed, up to date on vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300. How to Adopt Me! If you are interested in learning more about me, and possibly making me part of your family, please go to wagoninn.rescuegroups . Click on the orange Online Adoption Application button to fill out an application. A Wag On Inn volunteer will be in touch soon!

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
