Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Simba is ready to embark of the next circle of his life and just can't wait to be a king of someone's world. Anywhere the light touches, Simba will shine. He has done exceptionally well with meeting dogs at the shelter, with polite greetings and mutually sniffing off-leash in play yards. In Simba's first home, he lived with children aged 7 and 12 years old as well as a small-breed dog. While cats and car rides aren't Simba's favorite, he has done well in a crate, and has demonstrated he is house-trained. If you would like to feel Simba's love, come on down to the shelter and take in all that there is to be found. Simba's adoption fee is sponsored by the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation thanks to “Leave No One Behind fund” – designed to adopter’s eyes towards animals who have been in the Shelter’s care a little longer than average waiting for the right adopter. Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
