Description
Dog Breed: Great Pyrenees (long coat). Meet Frosty – A Loyal Guardian with a Working Dog’s Heart Frosty is a smart and devoted 4-year-old Great Pyrenees mix with a strong herding instinct and a deep loyalty to his people. True to his breed, Frosty takes his role as a protector seriously—he’s naturally alert and will faithfully watch over his home and land. He thrives in environments where he has space to roam and a purpose to fulfill, making him an ideal fit for a farm, ranch, or rural property. Frosty is not a fan of sharing his space—especially when it comes to food—so he’s best suited as the only pet in the home. He can be reactive to other dogs, both in the house and on leash, and needs a confident, experienced handler who understands his boundaries and is committed to setting him up for success. That said, Frosty walks beautifully on leash when outings are structured, and he truly enjoys these focused adventures with his person. He’s not a city dog and would not be comfortable in busy, high-traffic environments like breweries, dog-friendly patios, or urban neighborhoods. At home, Frosty is typically low-energy and happy to relax near his people, quietly observing the world around him. He occasionally gets playful and enjoys short bursts of activity, but he’s not into toys or dog playmates. After his fun, he’s content to settle back down and enjoy the peace of his surroundings. Frosty is deeply bonded to his people and prefers not to be kenneled or left alone for long periods. He wants to be involved in daily life and close to those he loves whenever possible. He does have a bit of a mischievous side—he may put his paws on the counter, but he hasn’t taken anything (yet!). Being a typical Pyrenees, Frosty is brave but also sensitive—he’s afraid of thunderstorms and will need support managing anxiety during those times. Frosty is looking for: An experienced, dog-savvy home No other pets A farm, ranch, or rural home with plenty of space Adult-only home or older, dog-savvy children A strong daily routine and minimal kennel time If you’re looking for a loyal, intelligent, and protective companion who’s happiest with a job and room to roam, Frosty might just be your perfect match. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
