Description
Dog Breed: Cattle Dog / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: $300.00. Hi everyone. Meet Sweet Mele. She is an approximately 7 month old Pitbull mix, and she's looking for her happily ever after. She is potty trained, crate trained, up to date on vaccinations and spayed. Mele has spent a lot of time in the care of her foster. She has been a Rescue Rovers pup since March, and has patiently been waiting for a home of her own. She's ready to be your new cuddle buddy! Mele is smart, playful, beautiful and as sweet as can be! She loves hanging out around the house, in the yard and relaxing in her crate. She is also a playful gal! She loves playing with her 4-legged friends in the yard, and enjoys a variety of toys. Mele is a bigger girl, and can sometimes forget her size and strength. She'd do best in a home with another medium/large dog and kids who are well equipped to handle her excitement. Mele is ready for her fairytale ending, and is ready for her forever besties. If you're ready to add a new member to the family and think Mele could be your perfect fit, please apply to meet her at bit.ly/RRAdoptionApplication.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
