She’s sweet, gentle, and full of love—but don’t be fooled, she’s also the mastermind behind the great puppy pen escape. Her sister Louise is often left behind wondering what just happened while Thelma trotted off, proud and pleased with herself. She and Louise were found dumped in a truck yard, and while we don’t know anything about their life before that, Thelma’s already shown us who she is: smart, playful, and determined. She loves food puzzles (though they don’t last long), enjoys being around people and other dogs, and genuinely wants to make her humans happy. She learns quickly—faster than her sister, actually—and she’s fun to watch when her little brain gets going. She’ll need the usual puppy training: potty habits, basic obedience, and some help learning how to channel all that cleverness into good choices. She barks a bit when she’s excited for meals or mid-play, and she may whine briefly when left alone, but settles down quickly. If there are kids in the home, older is better—she’s got typical puppy energy and could be a bit much for toddlers. Same goes for dogs: she’s great with them, but she plays up close and personal, so her new dog sibling should be okay with that. Thelma is the kind of dog who figures things out fast and loves with her whole heart. She’s a special one, and she’s going to make someone feel incredibly lucky. Thelma is from Texas.
