Name: Oscar Breed: Mixed Breed Age: Young Gender: Male Size: Medium 35 lbs House-trained: Yes Crate-trained: Yes Good with kids: Yes Good with other dogs: Selective (prefers playful companions) Meet Oscar – Your New Best Friend! Oscar is a lovable, playful, and affectionate young pup who’s looking for a forever home where he can be the center of someone’s world. He’s currently in a foster home, where he’s been doing great with crate training, walking on a leash, and adjusting to a routine with ease. Oscar is full of personality—he loves to cuddle, play, and soak up all the attention he can get. He’s been wonderful with his foster’s son and would likely thrive in a family with children. He’s also friendly with visitors once he gets a moment to sniff and settle in. He’s living with an older female dog and while he’s always ready to play, he understands when to give space (even if it takes a hint or two!). Oscar would do best with a family that can give him lots of love, playtime, and snuggles. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a big heart and an even bigger cuddle drive, Oscar is your guy! Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
