Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua. **ALL ADOPTIONS INCLUDE A HOME VISIT., YOU MUST LIVE IN BROWARD OR PALM BEACH COUNTIES.** Meet Chiara – The Chunky Chihuahua with a Heart Full of Love! Chiara's personality is one to cherish with her gentle kisses and paws on you for hugs. Her name, Italian for "bright," perfectly matches her shining personality. With her adorable Chihuahua-Pug/Frenchie-like features and her heartwarming snuggles, Chiara is ready to find a forever home where love and lap time are in abundance. At six years old and eleven pounds, Chiara may have started a little shy, but with a soft voice and gentle touch, she quickly blossomed into the sweetest companion. She’ll wrap her tiny paws around your arm as you rub her velvety neck flub (yes, it’s as cute as it sounds! ). And when she’s feeling extra affectionate, she’ll press her head against your chest—her special way of sharing pure joy. Chiara enjoys her daily walks, keeping a nice pace as she takes in the world around her. She’s also a wonderful car companion, happy to be by your side wherever the journey leads. Recently, she had a dental cleaning along with her spay, so she’s all set for a fresh start in her new home! We’re looking for an adult home where Chiara will have plenty of snuggle time and loving companionship. If you’re ready to welcome a little ray of sunshine into your life, Chiara is waiting to brighten your days! This dog's adoption fee is $500 to go towards their vetting (vaccines, spay/neuter, heartworm/Ehrlichia/Lyme test, fecal test, pre-op blood work, dental cleaning, and microchip as well as grooming if needed). If you are interested, please fill out the adoption application. For additional information regarding our adoption process, please check our FAQ's Page. *All dogs in the care of Get a Life Pet Rescue live in loving foster homes while waiting for their perfect match. Overview:
The Chihuahua, a captivating breed known for its diminutive size, boasts an ancient and somewhat mysterious origin, with most theories pointing to Mexico as its birthplace, potentially descending from the "Techichi," a small companion dog of the Toltec civilization. Physically, they are easily recognizable by their small, compact bodies, large expressive eyes, and erect ears, appearing in both smooth and long-coated varieties, showcasing a vast array of colors and markings. Despite their tiny stature, Chihuahuas possess a big personality; they are often described as spirited, alert, and fiercely loyal to their owners, sometimes displaying a bold and confident demeanor. While their small size makes them exceptionally well-suited for apartment living, they thrive in homes where they receive ample attention and mental stimulation. They can be good family pets for older children who understand how to interact gently with a small dog, but their delicate build makes them less suitable for boisterous toddlers. Regarding health, Chihuahuas can be prone to certain conditions like patellar luxation, heart problems, and dental issues, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their well-being.
