Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. Brooks is a sweet and spunky young boy who is looking for a forever home! He is curious, confident, feisty, shares his opinion proudly and has good food and toy drive. He will need an experienced handler able to help him grow into the awesome dog he's meant to be! Will that be YOU?!?! He is working on potty training, crate training, Sit, Down, Here, Heel, his Name, Leave It, Drop It. It would be good for him to have a confident fur sibling who can teach him the ropes because he's a sassy boy who's not afraid of dogs and will try to be boss baby! We recommend against young children due to him being the epitome of a Mali and will nibble at feet, hands and faces. We are hoping for him to find a sport home or a human who is really into training and is active! Follow him on Facebook: #MADloveBrooks Puppies require a refundable spay/neuter deposit of $250 in addition to their adoption fee. Neuter is required by six months. MAD reimburses up to $350 of the neuter cost. All dogs come with a Fi Collar Series 3 and a 6-months subscription! We are an official 501c3 organization that does not have a physical location. Our home address is in Michigan, however, the majority of our dogs are not located in Michigan. The physical location of each our our dogs is posted with the name of the pet or in the title area. If you are within 4 hours of the pet, please be prepared to pick the pet up. We do provide transport assistance up to 350 miles. The applicant must drive the remainder of the distance of the transport. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
