Dog Breed: Shar Pei / Terrier / Mixed. Currently located at our Chrisney, IN location Meet Chevelle! This Shar Pei mix may only weigh around 30 lbs, but she’s packed with personality. Chevelle absolutely adores people and greets everyone like a long-lost friend. Her small stature makes her the perfect size for just about any home, but don’t be fooled—this girl has a BIG heart and an even bigger personality! Chevelle would love to meet any potential dog siblings before going home, so a meet and greet is recommended. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
