Description
Dog Breed: Cane Corso Mastiff (short coat). Meet Chikis – A Gentle Soul Looking for Love Chikis is a stunning 3-year-old Cane Corso with a heart as big as her paws. She was rescued from the West Valley Animal Shelter along with her brother, Zeus. Both came in with cherry eye—Chikis in one eye and Zeus in both—but thanks to the love and care they’ve received, they’re now fully recovered and thriving. At around 96 lbs, Chikis is: ✅ Spayed ✅ Vaccinated ✅ Microchipped Chikis is a timid, shy girl who simply wants a kind, patient person to show her the world isn’t so scary. She enjoys quiet moments, following her humans around, and curling up at their feet. She’s also playful when the mood strikes—especially if there’s a ball or some water involved! With her gentle spirit and loving eyes, Chikis is sure to steal your heart. She just needs a chance and a soft place to land. If you’re interested in adopting or fostering-to-adopt this beautiful girl, please contact the rescue. Chikis is ready to meet her forever family! ❤️

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
