Description
Dog Breed: Belgian Shepherd Malinois. This is Ragnar, one of our newest Foster dogs from the rescue we work with, MAD Rescue ~~ Malinois and Dutch Shepherd Rescue, Inc.. This dog is roughly 6 years old and has an insatiable drive for playing ball and training in general. He is extremely athletic, sweet and does well with other dogs but he was primarily used for work in his previous home so he is still learning house manners and respectful boundaries and he does not do well around small animals. He knows both French and English but responds to French commands better. This dog would be a great option for someone wanting to do something lighthearted and fun in the dog sport world that wouldn't be too hard on his body or someone that just wants an active dog. This is not a couch potato cuddle buddy and this dog will take some work, but with the right person, he would be an amazing companion. Sometimes the challenging ones are the ones that end up being the special ones, so if you are looking for a highly trained working dog to give a nice retirement life to, Ragnar is your guy! Go to .madrescueinc to put in an application, and just make sure to Enter Ragnars name! Ragnar is a high drive 6 year old neutered male Malinios. For Ragnar ball is life. Other toys are good, but a ball is the king of toys. He is crate trained and housebroke. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
